You may then have an additional reason to finish your workout instead of going home and relaxing.

Despite our good intentions, there will be unpredictable events that make it impossible for us to do what we planned. So if something happens that prevents you from working out, do not come down hard on yourself. If you didn?t exercise, this isn?t a reason to chastise yourself. No matter what happens, the key is to stay as positive as you can. Whatever has happened is already in the past, so don?t worry about it. Negative feelings can be the worst thing for your motivation, so don?t let them get hold of you. Don?t let minor challenges or problems sprout into a major crisis.

Sports psychologists recognize the issue of fitness motivation for women because we have different needs and considerations. This isn?t to say that men are better than women but they are differences. These differences need to be considered as women approach ways to maintain a positive state of mind. Researching what other women do to maintain their focus and motivation may be helpful for when you run into motivation issues.
